So on the way back down we will stay away from the coast. I am sorry I am not 100% up on my USA land marks and sight seeing locations, so this route needs A LOT of work. We can go see president's head statues, its so sad I can't even remember what they are called. Mt. Vernen... I think thats Thomas Jefferson Estate. We can go there too. We can go through Baltimore and Philadelphia and Washington. A ride through Americans founding history!!! Not to mention Amish country in Pennsylvania. There are many wonderful forests and such in New York and all along the route. So the way back down is open to MUCH change and fine tuning. Total Distance about 5500 km. IDEALLY 3 weeks would be nice for this trip but 15 may be enough if we ride 350km a day. No problem for US roads, but no rest days and little time to sight see, maybe 2 hours a day. We will want to do SOME sighting seeing. Much of it can be down on the bike. We can ride right to the Lincoln Memorial for example, get off, take a picture and keep riding. You can spend 3 weeks just in the museums in DC so obviously we cant do everything. Its more about the riding than the stopping. (I have always wanted to go see Langley, the CIA headquarters in Virgina. Its just a boring building, but still something cool to tell people you have seen.)
